..... turning the page on a new day

Sc/een.e from a Balcony 2-6-25 7:30am

Comparing the series of sc/een.es, these mornings are seeming very similar from day to day, except or today which calls for rain. Thankfully, temperatures are holding steady, and even though we have another month + of winter, I'd appreciate seeing more of this, sans rain of course. The earth is thirsty.

What else, what else ... ??

Today I'm headed over to Quest to have my body fluids collected to satisfy the blood panel request for my new 'job' as front desk concierge for my apartment complex. I already informed them that recently I acquired a medical marijuana card due to chronic pain related to neuropathy and gout. I was informed this would not be problematic so long as I provide evidence of my certification. Done. After that I'm open to whatever .... definitely Harp practice is on the agenda. Currently working with Mia on my Key of D folder, which includes Gymnopedie, Canon in D, and a few others such as Butterly Gig, and Mary Queen of Scots (a Celtic standard). On Dusty Ravenna, I'm set on mastering my Eb folder, which includes a couple of my own arrangements: Oh What a Beautifull Morning, Urge for Going, Norwegian Wood, another Mary Queen of Scots by a different arranger.

Meet the Girls

This seems a good time to introduce my Harp family:
One the right we have our #1 Destiny, a Dusty Strings 34 string Ravenna, #2 in the middle is Deirdre, a Rees Fullsicle 26 string lap harp, and last but not least, the newest (and final) addition to the clan is Delta, the Salvi Mia also 34 strings. Isn't she lovely?

Each of these harps have uniquely distinct voices. Destiny has a nice warm round tone, Delta a crisp clear voice due to her carbon strings, and little Deirdre is not known for her tone quality, but we don't judge her for that, since she is ready willing and able to carry out when the whim to play outdoors strikes. The other two are portable as well, each weighing about 40 lbs and easily carried over to the park or downtown as the spirit moves me.

    1. Thanks! I had my pee test yesterday and the results 'should' be ready in a couple days. I mentioned to the supervisor that I had a med MJ card and they stated it would be OK so long as I provided copies of my card. Onboarding date is scheduled for 2-15!

  2. Love the rainy, moody balcony picture, and the way it contrasts to the cheery harp family picture!
